2. General information

This website is a personal portfolio for artistic work and teaching. Personal data is only processed where this is technically necessary to deliver the website, where you contact me yourself, or where you actively give your consent, for example by subscribing to the newsletter.

When you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits technical information such as your IP address, the requested page, the time of the request, the referring page and information about your browser and operating system. This information is processed by the hosting infrastructure to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable.

3. Hosting and technical operation

The website is built and published with Lovable. The published site under the domain jule-fuchs.de is delivered through Cloudflare's global network (Cloudflare, Inc., with Cloudflare Germany GmbH for the EU), which serves the pages and provides transport security and protection against abuse. Server requests, including the technical access data described above, are processed by these providers on my behalf so that the website can be delivered to your browser.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.

4. Web fonts

The website loads the typefaces "Instrument Serif" and "Inter" from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). When a page is opened, your browser connects to the Google Fonts servers, which means your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google. This may include a transfer of data to servers outside the EU/EEA, for which Google relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in a consistent typographic presentation of the website.

5. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, the information contained in your message, including your email address and any details you provide, is processed solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract or its preparation, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in answering inquiries.

Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to handle your request and to comply with any applicable statutory retention obligations.

6. Newsletter (Brevo)

The contact page contains a newsletter registration form provided by Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH / Brevo SAS). When you subscribe, your email address is transmitted to and stored by Brevo, which processes this data as a processor on my behalf.

Subscribing is entirely voluntary and requires your active consent through the checkbox: "I would like to subscribe to the newsletter and agree to the privacy policy."

Registration uses the Double Opt-In procedure. After submitting the form you receive a confirmation email, and you are only added as a confirmed subscriber once you click the confirmation link in that email. Information documenting your subscription and consent may be stored in order to demonstrate that consent was given.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by using the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter, or by sending an email to info@jule-fuchs.de. Your data is stored for the purpose of sending the newsletter until you unsubscribe.

7. YouTube videos

Some project videos are hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). The videos are not embedded on page load. A still image is displayed instead, and the YouTube player is only loaded once you actively click to play a video. Before that interaction, no connection to YouTube is established by the website.

When you start a video, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com in privacy-enhanced mode. At that point your IP address and information about your browser are transmitted to YouTube, and YouTube may store information on your device. This may involve a transfer of data to servers outside the EU/EEA, for which Google relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Because the player is only loaded after your click, the legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Further information is available in Google's privacy policy.

8. Instagram

The website links to my Instagram profile. No Instagram feed, plugin or pixel is embedded, so simply visiting this website does not transmit any data to Instagram. Data is only processed by Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) once you click the link and open the platform, in which case Instagram's own privacy policy applies.

9. Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website does not use analytics, tracking or advertising technologies, and it does not set any non-essential cookies. There is therefore no cookie banner. The only cookie set when you visit the site is a technically necessary security cookie placed by Cloudflare (__cf_bm), which is used to distinguish human visitors from automated requests and expires after a short time. Third-party services such as YouTube may store information on your device, but only after you actively start a video.

10. Recipients and processors

Data is only passed on where this is necessary for the purposes described above. The recipients are the providers used to publish and deliver this website (Lovable and Cloudflare), Brevo as the newsletter service provider, Google Fonts for the delivery of the typefaces, and YouTube if you choose to play a video. No data is sold or used for advertising purposes.

11. International data transfers

Where the services described above process data outside the EU/EEA, this transfer is based on the safeguards offered by those providers, in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, for Google, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

12. Data retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as statutory retention obligations require. Newsletter data is stored until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent. Email correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed.

13. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal data stored about you
  • request rectification of inaccurate data
  • request erasure of your data
  • request restriction of processing
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

The supervisory authority responsible for my place of residence is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

14. Contact regarding privacy

For any questions about this privacy policy or about the processing of your personal data, please contact info@jule-fuchs.de.
