About
Movement as research & expression.
I work with movement as a form of research and artistic expression. My practice explores rhythm as a way of organically organizing movement, composition in both solo and group settings, and score-based exploration as a source for creation as well as teaching.
For me, teaching and artistic work are inseparable parts of the same practice.
My work is informed by a background in Cultural Anthropology, a curiosity for choreographic tools and a deep trust in the intelligence of the body. Drawing from ongoing research in biomechanics and anatomy, I am interested in movement as a way of bringing attention to the present moment, questioning my understanding of the moving body and communicating experiences that often remain beyond words.
Biography
I am a dancer, performer, choreographer and dance educator based in Hamburg, Germany. My background combines Cultural Anthropology (B.A., University of Freiburg, 2020) with professional dance training in Germany, Italy and Portugal.
My movement practice is informed by contemporary dance, improvisation, Axis Syllabus, acrobatics, body percussion and somatic movement practices.
I have collaborated as a performer with international choreographers and enjoy creating both solo and collaborative works.
My work has been presented in Germany, Portugal, Italy and China, including performances in Beijing and Chengdu, across stage, site-specific and research contexts. Alongside my artistic practice, I teach contemporary dance classes and workshops across Europe.
